Shuangqing Community Center stands as a social and educational hub, providing an inclusive platform for the local community’s development. The project envisions itself as a sanctuary for spiritual reshaping. Architecturally, this community center is inspired by the graceful contours of traditional Chinese fans, the design is characterized by a simple yet elegant structure — concrete panels with semicircular arches. The building consists of classrooms, a library, a co-working space, and a hostel. Furthermore, the building is equipped with facilities and amenities that ensure accessibility and inclusivity for individuals with diverse mobility needs. This project seeks to promote participation and social development.

Design Strategy

Urban Getaway:
Prioritize sustainab-ility, human well-being, and the harmonious integra-tion of natural and built environments.
Inclusive Design:
Collaborate with the community to craft spaces that mirror their aspirations.
Public Space:
Create public spac-es that fullfill dive-rse needs with a focus on access-ibility and inclusivity.
Mixed-use Space:
Promote a lively urban setting that nurtures a strong sense of commu- nity.

The community center’s distinctive shape combines cultural symbolism with enhanced functionality. Upon entering, visitors encounter a blend of traditional aesthetics and modern functionality in the expansive interior. The open layout caters to diverse events, spanning cultural exhibitions to recreational activities. The building’s curvature enhances natural ventilation by channeling breezes through the spaces while maximizing natural light exposure. This deliberate integration aligns with the principles of both traditional Chinese architectural wisdom and contemporary designs.
